This is my new EDC. It is daylight blinding within 10 feet. Daylight blinding btw is over 85000k candela, this one has 125k candela. It actually has a useable clicky tail cap that has momentary. Most throwers do not have ie Acebeam L17 or Powertac Huntsman XLT LT. This also has the two swtich so body one for mode set and tail cap for on off plus momentary. UI is great as It has infinite memory so mode you set stays forever. It is a big light to carry but both offers combative qualaties ie daylight blinding, strike capabilty size but also has a balance of mode settings for actual daily use with a large capacity does run on 18650 as well. It is large light for a pocket but is doable. I have about 40 flashlights and this is truly a tactical one.

Probably shouldn’t do this, every time I do they double the price, but this is one freaking awesome light! Absolutely the brightest one on the market. I bought eight different ones all price ranges, and this one blows them away. It is simply the whitest light available. Also, it has great features like the momentary on tail switch, the easily adjustable power output button and the sapphire beads on the edge is just a cool touch. The lense is glass and not plastic too. Yeah it gets hot but it’s not a problem. I use this everyday for my crane inspections and it’s amazing. The one and only negative thing about it is having to remove the battery to charge it. That and trying to find a replacement battery for it isn’t going well. Maybe next year’s model will have a charging port and maybe a ridge for your fingers to anchor to when your thumb hits the tail button. I love this light! Please don’t raise the price.

This review is for the CYANSKY K3 V2.0 tactical flashlight. While “tactical flashlight” isn’t necessarily a technical term, there are a few characteristics that a good tactical flashlight should have such as having a powerful and bright beam (that can disrupt an attacker’s vision), high reliability and long run times, durability and shock resistance, simple operation with quick access to turbo or strobe modes (there should be a shortcut instead of having to cycle through every mode), and good weather sealing. The CYANSKY K3 V2.0 generally meets the above criteria, and they also advertise various compatible gun mounts and related accessories on their website.
CYANSKY is relatively new player to the professional grade flashlight market, with their trademark and website being registered in 2021, but this product has been quite impressive none the less. The K3 is very well made and it feels balanced in the hand. The included BL2150U battery is a bit of a small wonder, featuring a built in USB C charging port that charges at up to 5V 1.5A and red green indicator LED inside the nub. It’s a 21700 battery with 5000mAh capacity, and through the use of sleeve accessories, the more common 18650 batteries can also be used.
The only niggle I have about this product is related to ergonomics as it pertains to one handed operation. The side button is ~4.25 inches (~10.8cm) from the tail switch, which is too far for me to operate comfortably and reliably with a single hand. The K3 V2.0 has a memory feature where each activation of the flashlight uses the previously set mode, so if I set it on high, each subsequent activation will also default to high, so the problem is partially mitigated. However, with a one handed grip, despite having larger than average hands, I’m unable to confidently activate eco or strobe modes.
The CYANSKY K3 V2.0 is long throw flashlight with a narrow hotspot. At 12 feet (~3.65m), the hotspot is ~15 inches (38cm) across. For reference, the FENIX PD35 TAC V3.0 throws a ~15 inch diameter hotspot in about 6.5 feet (1.98m). The ability to put a lot of light on a small area at long distance is pretty great for things like search and rescue and acquiring targets at 350 yards, but it also makes it less useful as an general purpose flashlight.
Notes:
1) The K3 V2.0’s High setting is rated at only 450 lumens which is rather low. However, CYANSKY does claim ambient working temperature of up to 50 Celsius (122 Fahrenheit), and the High setting’s output remains consistent even though the light gets warm, so maybe that’s a factor.
2) The CYANSKY K3 is similar in size to the popular Anker Boulder LC90 but it’s in an entirely different class. The LC90 is NOT what I’d consider to be a tactical flashlight.

This flashlight uses a 21700 size battery, so it is possible to purchase spares, but you will need to either purchase batteries with a built in charge port like the battery that comes with this flashlight, or you will need an external charger. I have several flashlights, from models purchases here on Amazon for half the cost of this light, to name brand lights costing twice as much. This light falls squarely in the middle as its price would suggest it has some nice features like dual switches, a momentary on tail switch, last mode memory, and includes a 21700 battery with charging port. Many of the lower priced lights on Amazon won’t have these features.
Regarding output, I have lights around the 1000 lumen level up to 3000 lumens and I believe the claimed 2000 lumen output of this light is accurate if measured at the hotspot. Many of the lower priced lights found on Amazon far fall short of their claimed output. This light would fall into the category of “compact thrower”, meaning it uses a single battery and has a led and reflector configuration designed to maximize having most of the output focused on a center “hot spot”. This small hotspot is capable of lighting up something like a stop sign at a distance of several hundred feet. That type of long distance illumination or “spotting” is the intended function of this light and what it excels at. It’s not really designed as a general use “around the house” type of light, for that you would want a flood style light that will illuminate a much larger area with a much more even light pattern. The strobe function of this light can provide a serious deterrent to an aggressor and it importantly can be easily accessed using the last mode memory and momentary on tail switch.
The only reason I’m giving this flashlight 4 stars is because I believe it’s still a little pricey, as high output lights have in general come down in price over the last few years. Just be sure that any light you’re comparing this one to does actually have comparable features and output, and that a compact thrower like this is the correct style of flashlight for your intended use.
